Ezarcher Arch Linux Udates – 2021.12.15 – Gnome, BTRFS, & TimeShift Snapshots

I have added the Gnome template and ISO back into the Ezarcher mix. I have uploaded new ISOs as of December 15, 2021. However, Boost is getting updated in Arch soon (at least it is in testing atm), so many packages are going to updating very shortly. A new boost version will also mean new Calamares building. Expect new ISOs shortly!

I install the Gnome ISO and run through a few details of running my Ezarcher Gnome ISO in VirtualBox with the SDDM display manager. During the installation, I show how to choose BTRFS for the root filesystem during a Calamares install. I also run an update and install TimeShift out of the AUR and demonstrate its basic use.

Thanks for watching and stay safe folks! 🙂

  1. Thnks eznix, that 600Mb issue i had myself also this week 😉 Question: why are some qt libraries left in an installed Cinnamon? Know you need them for Calamares but i was surprised to see an update for those files. PS: I did just all your steps this week, with both KDE and Cinnamon, edited the packagelists, use Pipewire: all good stuff. Now I'll be editing it to include the Zen kernel.
